Group-Sponsored Time Travel Contest
Details
Deadline: | April 18 |
Fee: | Free |
Have you seen the old photos picturing time travelers? Of course, those stories are all debunked. Or are they? What about the countless books, movies, and television shows, featuring time travel? Are those stories based in reality?
Why would someone want to go back in time? To undo something, take a different path, live in a different era, or simply visit someone long gone? How did they get there? What was their goal? Did their journey ripple forward to change modern day?
Now is your chance to write the ultimate time travel story. Third Drawer Down invites you to create your character and take us on a journey back in time. How do we get there? It’s up to you.
We want to become so immersed in your story that we feel we’ve traveled back with you, to where we wonder if our reality has changed as we exit your tale.
What happens to your character and whether they return is up to you. You have up to 3,000 words to tell your story.
Some caveats. Your story cannot be political. Write your character’s personal journey. It needs to be complete, but it can end in a hook, making us want more, suspending us in the magic of a well-told story.
The judges are the editors of Space & Time Magazine, one of the oldest and most well-known SciFi magazines, including award-winning poet, author, and publisher, Angela Yuriko Smith. These are the same people who judged our AI- Artificial Intelligence Contest four years ago.
Prize money for this contest is provided by the Scribophile Writing Contest Prize Fund.
