Details
Deadline: | Jun 1, 2013 |
Fee: | Free to post here, $10 to enter (see below for details) |
Spark: A Creative Anthology brings back their member-sponsored quarterly writing contest with a new writing prompt and even better prizes! For Contest Two, your writing prompt is the artwork Impresión del perfil de una mujer by Rodney Artiles, which will be featured on the cover of Spark: A Creative Anthology, Volume III. Entries are not required to adhere to this prompt, but you are encouraged to let it inspire your creativity. There are no age or genre restrictions for this contest, and content guidelines are similar to Spark's standard submission guidelines, including what they are not accepting.
- Prose: Must be no more than 12,000 words, fiction and creative nonfiction included.
- Poetry: Any style, meter, rhyme scheme, or form, but must be less than 150 lines.
There are prizes for both poetry and prose categories, so each level of prize has two winners:

Important Note: This isn't a Scribophile contest. You are certainly encouraged to post your work to this contest so you can get your work critiqued before entering it on the Spark Anthology website. SIMPLY POSTING IT HERE ON SCRIBOPHILE DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE ENTERED THE CONTEST. It does mean that you'll have a better shot because of the feedback offered, plus you'll get a good look at the competition. Past winners have been Scribophile members!
To enter, head on over here to the entry form. There is a $10 submission fee when you enter, but it's still free to post it here (minus the karma, anyway).

Submission guidelines
There are no age limits for this contest other than legal restrictions imposed by your local jurisdiction. In the event that a younger winner is ineligible for any non-cash prize because of age, an equivalent cash prize will be substituted.
You may enter multiple pieces in this contest, and you may enter both poetry and prose, but each entrant can win at most one prize, no matter how many entries were made.
There is a $10 submission fee to enter the contest. Entry fees are non-refundable. To post the piece on Scribophile, there is no entry fee (only the usual karma to post your work).
