Member-Sponsored Yakety Yack Don't Talk Back Contest
Details
Deadline: | Jun 30, 2016 |
Fee: | Free |
Did Presley ever wonder what his burger was missing? Did Robin wonder why it was so easy to make other people happy and not himself? Did the moon underwhelm Neil?
This is a contest for anyone who has ever wondered what went on in the minds of the worlds most famous people. Well, here is your chance to imagine. Maybe you’ll visit one of your idols, or perhaps you’ll be drawn to discover someone you don’t know much about.
We’re looking for interior monologues based on one of the famous people listed below. An interior monologue involves a character externalizing their thoughts so that the reader can access experiences that would otherwise be internal. In no more than 2,500 words, we’re looking for their inner thoughts, fears, hopes, dreams, prejudices and desires. We’re looking for a unique insight into the people everyone has heard of and feels they may know. The monologue can be general or relate to a specific and pivotal moment in the person’s history. Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads series is a landmark in this respect.
Please chose from one of the following 15 people listed:
- Amy Winehouse
- Barack Obama
- Elizabeth First of England
- Elvis
- Freddie Mercury
- Henry VIII
- Hitler
- James Dean
- Jimi Hendrix
- Joan of Arc
- Kurt Cobain
- Marie Curie
- Marilyn Monroe
- Neil Armstrong
- Robin Williams
The deadline for this contest in 30 June 2016.
