Founded by award-winning humanitarian, bestselling author, and acclaimed public speaker Dr. Samantha Nutt, War Child has worked in conflict areas since 1999. Millions of children, mothers, and families have benefited from their education, opportunities, and justice programs in war zones across the world. They advocate for and raise awareness about the impact of war and our shared responsibility to act.
This Scrib contest is open to all members who would like to write a story about innocent people struggling to survive, or escape from, conflict. You're encouraged to include children and/or women as your main characters. Your work may be fiction, non-fiction, memoir. In fact any style, POV or even genre is acceptable, but in the spirit of the charity please don't submit work that glorifies war.

Rules
In the spirit of the charity - your story must not glorify war.
Entries must be no longer than 3,000 words per Scribophile’s count.
No novel chapters.
New content only. No work previously posted on Scribophile will be considered.
Work submitted must not have been previously submitted to any other contest.
Only one entry per member.
Entries must have Public visibility on Scribophile until winners are announced.
Any and all genres, styles accepted. Please use the “adult” flag as appropriate. Please also include more specific warnings if your work includes content that may upset survivors of conflict/abuse.
You may post your work, receive critiques, and edit until the deadline.
Submission guidelines
Entry is free, but you’ll need karma points to post your work to the contest. You can earn karma points by writing critiques of work by other members.
