Member-Sponsored Abandoned Places Contest
Details
Deadline: | Jan 31, 2022 |
Fee: | Free |
Write a story or poem about an abandoned place. The place can be modern, set in a city, in a rural location, historic or futuristic, or completely fictional. Here are some examples of abandoned places for inspiration (pick one or create your own).
The story should have the abandoned place at its center. The writing should reflect the emotions and mood connected to the place. If the writing is about a desolate location such as a desert or ocean some sort of place (e.g. abandoned house, a ship adrift, etc. should also appear in the story). The writing could be about the place, or about a character(s) interacting with the place.
The story will be judged on:
depiction of this place
engagement of the emotions
imagery
strength of writing
I will post a thread in the forums for any other questions. Please also feel free to PM me.
