Member-Sponsored A Sense of Place Contest
Details
Deadline: | Jun 15, 2014 |
Fee: | Free |
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.
Have you ever lived in or visited a place that quickened all your senses, and that is so heavily invested with meaning that it is an integral part of your identity? Do you have memories of a place that has marked you for life, shaped you, taught you the value of nature, a home, a land, a people? Do you wish you had such a connection to a place? Do you know someone whose heart and mind and eyes are wide open to the places in which they find themselves? If so, I want to hear about it. Tell me what "sense of place" suggests to you, tell me about the relationship with the place that makes you feel alive, that means more to you than any other. Your story can be fictional or nonfiction, it doesn't matter. What I want is your sense of place.
