Flash 500 Frontier Melodrama Contest
Details
Deadline: | Oct 19, 2012 |
Fee: | Free |
Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats! Our performance today is going to leave you rolling with laughter, weeping like the first time you watched "The Notebook," stunned by the sheer audacity of our hyperbole. Theatricality is the name of the game this time. Plot and action take precedence over characterization. You don't tell people your plans, you do them! Exaggerated action takes center stage in this month's Flash 500 contest theme: Melodrama.
You can't write a good melodrama without help, though. You're going to need someone to help push the emotions and situations to the extreme. That's why this is another team challenge. In no more than 1000 words, you'll pair up with another Scrib writer to create the next great Western melodrama. Where else do you find the best stock characters (desperado, rancher, The Sheriff, the lawless hero victimized by the banks/railroad) for the next great Frontier melodrama?
A Humble Request: Please list your co-author in the description of the piece, not the body of the piece. We want people to know who you worked with, but we don't want the judges to know.
Raise the curtains on this Wild West Melodrama!
